meet artists in their own studios in some of the most beautiful parts of the county. As well as being able to meet and buy art direct from the creator, many artists demonstrate, give talks or chances to ‘have a go’ at some art. More than 200 resident artists and crafts people open their studio doors for this annual event. Not only is the work beautiful but the studio locations are often remarkably diverse, including potter’s studios in meadows and medieval barns. A free event guide is available in early summer from libraries, Tourist Information Centres and other outlets or to download from the Open Studios page at www.devonartistnetwork.co.uk You can venture out on self-guided art tours using the full-colour guide or by spontaneously following the yellow arrows scattered about the countryside during the event.
