West End Shows in the South West
There’s no better treat than a trip to the theatre for a show to wow the family and friends and the summer programme at the Theatre Royal in Plymouth has something for everyone. The list of West End shows includes touring productions of longstanding favourites as well as world premieres of new musicals before they hit the bright lights of London.

Step Back in Time
Take a trip to the Devon Rural Archive at Shilstone House in Modbury to see their latest exhibition For King and Country: How South Devon farmers rose to the challenges of WW1. In an age when a generation of young men disappeared off to war the exhibition uses old archive material, newspapers and photographs to show the heavy impact the war had on the local farms.

Visit Overbeck’s and get a feel for how it would have been for the nurses and soldiers during its time as a Voluntary Aid Hospital for the Red Cross Society during WW1. On Wednesdays during school holidays have a go at Edwardian craft activities (decorating shells and making raffia flowers) remininscent of the convalescing WWI soldiers.
