ERASMUS TOUCH

Hello users, we are going to talk about a recent experi- ence given by our school. It is a program called Erasmus, which involves university students from across the globe that go abroad to other countries to study for one or two semesters. In the beginning of the activity two Portuguese university students informed us about the Erasmus program giving us a global idea about the subject and they also showed us two videos about the personal experiences and the family we can create when abroad. They introduced us to a Lithuanian girl named Austé, who was taking a course of management in education, also at the same time she was writing her master theses, she explained us the reason for the Erasmus country choice saying that she finds herself okay in Portugal. We learned about her own country but most importantly that if we go to Erasmus just to party and study it’s a waste of time and that we should value our country more. Erasmus is an experience that we should not miss up on since it will expand our horizons, make us grow as an individual therefore we should use it as an option for the future.■

The students of 10º 5ª #School_with_ERASMUS

On this activity we received 3 students from the Aveiro University to talk about the ERASMUS + programme. One of them participated on the programme giving us a first hand testimony and the other two belonged to ESN, European Students Network. We think that this experience was enriching because we learned more about the ERASMUS + programme and we got a new perspective from it. They showed us a prized video which was made by members of the organi- sation. We had time to put up our questions which were well answered by the ERASMUS students. The most important and interesting part of the session was Austé’s presentation. She gave us an inside look to what it means participating in this programme. However, we could only have her perspective on this since the other students were missing. On our opinion this was an overall good activity. The team was kind, helpful and resilient. They did a wonder- ful job convincing us on taking part of this exchange in the future.■

The students of 10º 2ª A MOTIVATING ACTIVITY

On 11th January all 10th graders attended the “Erasmus comes 2 school” activity, in order to be introduced to the Erasmus programme and also to get motivated and ex- cited about the project. This activity was introduced by two Portuguese universi- ty students from Aveiro who were part of IESN. This or- ganization helps foreign students to adapt to their new reality. The two girls showed a PowerPoint and a video about the project. Speaking of foreign students, the next guest was Austé, a Lithuanian student who is enjoying her experience in Portugal so far. She shared her opinion on the Erasmus programme, Portugal and the Portuguese people. She was also very open to answer all the questions asked by the students. To conclude, the students considered the activity enrich- ing, interesting, motivating, productive and educational.■

ERASMUS COMES TO ESMGA

On 11th January 2018, the 10th graders of Dr. Manuel Gomes de Almeida secondary school attended a session on the school auditorium about Erasmus programme. This activity was organized by the English teachers and the Aveiro ESN. At first, 2 members of this organization presented a pow- erpoint giving us the aims of the Erasmus project. They also showed us a video about the Erasmus experience whose goal was to motivate us to participate in this pro- gramme. After that, they introduced Austé, a Lithuanian student, who came to our country 4 months ago to finish her the- ses on Education Management. She talked about her- self, her life, her country, her choices and, most im- portant of all, her experience as an Erasmus student. Then we had the opportunity to ask her overall questions which were successfully answered by our guest. We were surprised by some of her answers, in particular her opinions on the Portuguese weather, food and people. To conclude, this activity allowed us to know more about what the Erasmus programme is and what benefits we may get from taking part in it.■
