Be prepared for natural disasters (tornadoes, floods, etc.) and medical emergencies (choking, seizures, burns, etc.) This class will also touch on Citizen CPR which is designed to teach untrained bystanders when and how to perform hands-only CPR after witnessing the sudden collapse of an adult. Learn how to build a disaster kit. Participants will be included in a free first aid kit raffle.

Water Habits Are Learned Early offers some basic lessons which are important for all children to know, presented in a fun way. Swim with a buddy in supervised areas. Be cool, follow the rule - the reasons behind water safety rules. Look before you leap - choose safe places to swim and dive. Reach or throw, don’t go - safe ways to rescue a swimmer in trouble. Don’t just pack it, wear your jacket. Be in the know before the busy summer swim season starts! Registration is required.

Express yourself! Enjoy a variety of art media and techniques such as blending, shading, proportioning and color mixing. Students can have any level of art experience! Instructor works on an individual basis. Please note: supplies you’ll need: good quality drawing paper (11’ x 14’), 2 or 3 veins of charcoal, a soft/ kneaded eraser and set of soft square pastels (Alpha Colors). Optional supplies: watercolor in tubes, 1/2’ ox hair square brush and small tapered watercolor brush. Watercolors are optional. If you wish to work in watercolors, you must purchase your own supplies. Please bring a hearty sack lunch and drink. iPods are acceptable. Peg furnishes only optional supplies.

CPR and First Aid Ages 12+

The purpose of this course is to teach students to recognize first aid and cardiac emergencies and take action. Students learn how to give appropriate care for different first aid emergencies and how to perform hands-only CPR. This is a 2-year certification.
