hosting festivals, ensemble offerings and professional development, there are countless people I would like to thank for their hard work and dedi- cation in maintaining our region’s status as the cornerstone for music education in Northern New Jersey. Our division chairs and executive board especially, are directly respon- sible for the great things we have enjoyed this year. As we reflect and look toward yet another great year of music making, please take a moment to read a message from each of our divisions. Thank you all, for your continued support and participation in making Region I amazing. Best of luck on the final portion of your
school year and enjoy your summer! Warmest Regards, Joseph Spina

Chorus Congratulations to our wonder-
ful Region Chorus Singers! Sixty-five different schools from
Region 1 participated in the High School Region Chorus Concert which took place on January 27, 2018. Approximately 270 perform- ers sang for an audience of over 900 at Bloomfield High School. The concert featured our Treble Choir directed by Jamie Bunce (Columbia High School, South-Orange-Maple- wood) and our Mixed Choir direct- ed by our guest conductor, Russell L. Robinson. We are very appreciative of all of the High School Directors from the Region that helped make this such a successful event! We would like to particularly acknowl- edge our managers and hosts: Mat- thew Petrozelli (Passaic Arts and Sci- ence Charter School); Patrice Kane (Kittatinny Regional HS);
Chris- 63

around the region participated in the Junior High Region Cho- rus Concert on March 18, 2018 at Kittatinny Regional High School in Newton. Over 675 people at- tended the concert which featured a Treble Choir under the direction of Mary MaGuire (Lovell J. Hon- iss School in Dumont) and Mixed Choir conducted by our guest con- ductor, J Donald Dumpson. There were about 250 singers singing in the combined choir for the finale. It was truly a wonderful concert enjoyed by all who attended. We would like to thank all of the Region 1 Junior High Directors who helped make this concert so successful! We would especially like to thank our managers and hosts: Cara Palomba (Schuyler-Colfax Middle
School,
Wayne); George Glock (Memorial Middle School in Fairlawn); Chris Henke (Kittatinny Regional High School in Newton); Laura Kosmich (Leonia Middle School); Irene Lahr (Ramapo Ridge Middle School in Mahwah); Jordan Barry (Macopin Middle School); Danielle Schreck (Jefferson Township Middle School in Oak Ridge); and Lisa Wichman (Pearl R.
