Our top 4 scoring students in order were Nour Ragab, Bryan Levi, Steven Gonzalez and Bela Khanna. They will perform a special quartet work during the festival concert in May. It’s official. Through the hard work of the NAfME Guitar Council, we are going to have the first All-National
Honor Guitar Ensemble which will meet and perform in Orlando, FL November 25-28 of this year. Michael Quantz has been named the conductor of this group. Audition information can be found at:

The Orchestra Procedures Committee would like to congratulate all of the students selected to participate in the
2018 All-State Orchestra and All-State Intermediate Orchestra. The March auditions were very successful again this year. The Procedures Committee would like to thank Auditions Chair, Sue Mark and her hard working team, Deb Knisely and Phil Senseney. Thank you to all of the directors for doing your part for the students.
The Procedures Committee has selected the solo list and scales for the auditions next year. Look for the require- ments in this issue of TEMPO! and the NJMEA website. Please email me or talk to anyone on the Procedures Com- mittee if you have any questions about audition requirements.
Right now, the All-State Intermediate Orchestra is working hard to prepare for their concert on Saturday, May 12th.
Please come hear these talented students perform. The All-State Orchestra will begin rehearsing this June. The con- ductor bio and program will be in the next TEMPO. As always, if you are interested in getting involved with the All- State Orchestras, please feel free to email me or stop by a rehearsal.
I am in the process of working with high school and middle school directors to plan for Festivals next school year. If you would like to be involved, please let me know!
