After raising a family and sending her four daughters off into the world, Mary Lemire figured it was a good time to pursue some personal career interests.
She trained as a travel consultant with Expedia Cruiseshipcenters starting in 2003, and five years later bought the business in Medicine Hat.
With 15 years in the business, celebrating 10 as an owner along with her husband Bob, Lemire has made a name for herself and the business as the No. 1 go-to travel agency in Medicine Hat. Expedia Cruiseshipcenters Medicine Hat has been named the best travel agency in Medicine Hat, as there is a lot more to the services available than the name suggests..
“I think that it will shows the people of Medicine Hat and area that we can be trusted to take care of all their travel needs, and that we are more than just cruises,” she says.
Lemire says if you bring your travel needs to her or her team, you’ll have everything taken care of, leaving you with nothing to worry about except enjoying your vacation.
“Our consultants will work hard to give you the best choices and prices and Expedia extras,” she says. “We are always
there for our clients before, during and after their vacation, and we will go above and beyond to ensure that their vacation experience is everything they want it to be.”
It started as a supplement income to her home business as a foot reflexologist, and over the years it has become a real passion. But she’s also a grandmother of four, and hopes to spend as much time with family as possible down the road.
In the interim, Lemire wants to see the business grow, building her team of consultants to be the best there is. And when she’s ready, she’ll pass the business on to someone eager for continued success.
“Eventually I hope to sell the business, take a step back and continue to service my clients, working part time as a senior travel consultant,” Lemire says. “I’m also looking forward to spending more time with our family and travelling more.”
Until then, she’ll keep assisting Hatters in finding their dream vacations.
