Freshly made with quality ingredients — that’s what makes Morgan’s Pizza the No. 1 place to grab a slice according to Best of Medicine Hat voters.
What makes the family owned take-out and delivery restaurant special is the pizza itself, said owner Morgan Schenkey.
“It’s something old-fashioned, and done the way it used to be done, instead of the manufactured way its done now,” he said.
The pizza-style itself is a combination between Italian and Greek style.
“We make our own dough daily, we go with better products rather than what’s the cheaper product.”
“I think the biggest thing is we put a lot of care into it, and a lot of work into it.”
As well, there’s the really good customer service, he said.
“We really try to get to know our customers over time. And because we’re not a franchise, we can get to know people more and spend more time with them.”
Located on 415 Aberdeen St. S.E., Morgan’s Pizza was established eight years ago.
But Schenkey’s roots go back even further — his father used to run Dale’s Pizza.
“So I’m actually second generation,” he said, adding that while he left a few times to do other things, he just kept coming back to the food industry and to pizza.
“I guess one of the things for me is I’m very good at it,” he said with a laugh, about why he chose to open his own shop. “I kind of grew up in a pizza shop, so it came very naturally to me.”
