The Lord’s Taverners West Kent Region once again held their annual Black Tie Steve Davis Snooker Evening at Buxted Park Hotel. The evening had been auctioned at their Christmas Lunch where 15 aspiring snooker players had the opportunity to join the legendary Steve Davis on the Buxted Park snooker table following a Champagne reception and sumptuous four-course dinner and wines. The snooker was officiated by Michaela Tabb, the first lady referee to be recognised by the game’s ruling body.
With the usual fun and banter the evening’s winners were Pat Curran, Neil Hopkinson and Andrew Macfarlane. The ethos of the Lord’s Taverners of raising money whilst having fun was upheld with the evening raising £8,000 giving those children with special needs a sporting chance.
