Feeling old? You’re not offi cially over the hill until you are 83!


People in their 50s, 60s and 70s no longer feel old, says a survey by insurance company FiftyLife. Indeed, almost a quarter say they still feel in their prime. One in 20 say they still feel like a teenager, and nine out of 10 in their 60s and 70s consider themselves as ‘not remotely past it’. Here are some of the things keeping the older generation feeling younger: • They have a positive outlook on life. • They look young for their age. • They still work. • They still dress young. • They have a great sex life. • They go to the gym or play sport to keep active. • Their grandchildren help to keep them young.


Afternoon tea and entertainment


The Tonbridge Lions Club treated 140 seniors who live alone to afternoon tea at Tonbridge Baptist Church, where they enjoyed entertainment provided by the Lions members and their ladies with a ‘guest spot’ performance provided by the cast of Tonbridge Community Pantomime, who sang Happy. There was also a guest performance from 10-year-old Hannah Packham, daughter of one of the club members, who sang Colours of the Wind from Pocohontas, while Ken Packer played two clarinet solos. Musical accompaniment was


also provided by Mike Golding and
