Discover how the flowing and graceful movements of tai chi can reduce stress and anxiety, improve balance and body control, increase the feeling of peace and well-being, and promote health and healing. Learn the basic breathing, movement, and philosophy of tai chi and begin to practice this ancient art form of meditation in motion. Open to beginning and returning students.

Be aware! Be empowered! Se safe! Be in this class! Identifying and avoiding dangerous situations and making safe choices will be discussed. Participants will learn how to use karate and kung-fu techniques and objects in their environment as weapons to stop an attack. “Be the Victor, not the Victim” handout and video will be presented. Attendees may participate in the class activities at their comfort level. Girls under age 13 should be accompanied by an adult female.

Prepare your kids for the future! In this exciting class, children learn programming essentials with software developed by MIT and other recognized teaching solutions. It allows children to program their own interactive stories, games, and animations. It encourages systematic reasoning, creativity and helps them to work collaboratively. This class is a multi-level program where children are placed based on skill and experience. Students can move up a level each time they take the class to take on more advanced concepts.

Do you want to be the next George Lucas? We will create our very own Star Wars movie using special digital movie making cameras and software. As directors and producers, we will work in teams to create our own story and script, build various Star Wars Lego scenes and film our own movie. We will use graphic editing techniques and stop-motion animation, add background noise and music, and show our movie at a private screening on the last day of class. All students will get a copy of their movie after class is complete.
