Cornish Team Celebrate Double Awards Success

Cornish Hot Tubs is celebrating after having not one but two of their engineering team strike gold in the recent UK Pool & Spa Awards.

They nominated Service Manager Matt O’Hare and Service

Engineer, Matt Newman for outstanding service – and they both were awarded a gold standard.

Service Manager Matt O’Hare stands out from the crowd for his customer care. He is particularly good with customers needing that little extra care and assistance.

“One recent example of many was when Matt attended a service job for an existing customer where they had experienced a power cut which had affected the hot tub,” explains Emma Roberts of Cornish Hot Tubs.

“Matt realised when he arrived that the elderly lady had recently been widowed and it was her husband who normally sorted out the hot tub and she was a little of her depth when it came to the spas maintenance.”

Following the service Matt took time to explain how to look after the spa but soon realised that it was not just the spa she was worried about but also things in the house which had been disrupted due to the power cut, giving the customer his personal mobile phone number to call if she needed anything else. Says Emma: “Matt has worked with us for the past 6 years. He has grown with the company and is a huge asset to Cornish Hot Tubs.

“Matt will always finish a job, often working later than he should and has been known to work in the dark by torch light, he’s certainly dedicated to his work.”

Emma adds: “Matt is now venturing into sales alongside his

service role where his knowledge of the industry is already proving beneficial as customers buy with confidence.” Service engineer, Matt Newman, is one of the most positive guys on the Cornish Hot Tubs team, always willing to help out where needed and give anything a go without complaint. Described by his boss as hard-working, positive and a great problem solver, Matt He joined the company three years ago to strengthen the service team. His background as an electrician has helped massively to offer the technical diagnostic skills which are required for a great spa technician. He has a great rapport with many customers due to his cheerful, friendly manner and has become a key member of the Cornish Hot tubs team.

EXTRA MILE

Emma says: “Matt has a lot of involvement with our holiday let clients and takes great pride in his work.

“On one occasion he went the extra mile when a holiday letting property had an issue with their spa and needed an urgent fix. “With no engineers available Matt came to the rescue offering to go to the property in the evening after work, knowing the importance of getting the spa working for the new guests who would be arriving in the morning and looking forward to jumping in the spa.

“So after a busy day Matt went home, picked up his son from a club and then treated him to a bit of work experience for several hours in order to fix the spa.”
