This year’s category for Residential Outdoor Pools was so oversubscribed, the adjudication panel decided to split entrants based on the budget of the projects.
The clear winner in the category for installations under £100k was a character pool to be installed and specifically to blended in with the natural Cotswold stone surroundings. HTP designed the pool and configured it for specialist pool manufactuer, Niveko, to build to the exact client requirements.
The £65k project boasts the first invisible skimmer system where the pool walls are uninterrupted with a seamless profile; unique from Niveko.

WINNING HAT-TRICK Following both public and judges’ votes, the adjudication panel could not put a cigarette paper between three outstanding projects in the category for Outdoor Residential Pools over £100k. So they gave a trophy to all three.
The victorious New Dawn project involved removing an existing outdoor pool and installing a new 12mx 5m infinity edge pool with internal steps and spa pool.
The design, colour of the tiles to blend in with the Cotswold surroundings and lush green grass, gives the project very clean lines. The infinity edge with internal spa which took some working out, New Dawn told the judges, with controls so that when the spa is in heating mode, the infinity edge stops flowing thus creating rapid heat up time on spa.

Co-winners, Falcon Pools impressed with a 12m x 5m fully tiled pool with luxury mosaic tiles which has turned into a pool of the clients’ dreams. Complementing its surroundings, the Gunite sprayed concrete uses glass media in a 24” filter with UV control to reduce chlorine consumption. Portrait Pools’ design and build something stunning that would fit well within the stunning surroundings and the equally beautiful house. The judges certainly felt they delivered. Not just a stunning, practical pool, but also a striking feature, water delicately flows over the infinity edge creating a magnificent water feature that can be viewed from all angles for the property and gardens.
