May McDevitt Donaghy’s Chemist, Castlederg


May has worked in Donaghy’s Pharmacy as a pharmacy sales assistant for almost 20 years. She has progressed from a sales assistant with very basic sales knowledge to being a very competent pharmacy sales assistant as a result of being involved in sales of over-the-counter medicines and other general sales. Over the years, May has taken part in various health fairs in the local area alongside the pharmacist, carrying out blood pressure monitoring and diabetes testing when required. .


Shauna Hagan Bannside Pharmacy, Portglenone


Shauna came to Bannside Pharmacy after completing her GCSE exams in 1988 and has almost 20 years’ experience with the company. She has achieved every NPA NVQ qualification possible for a pharmacy assistant, working her way through Interact, Dispensary Assistant NVQ2 and Technician NVQ3, before ultimately becoming an Accuracy Checking Technician in 2007. Shauna has the confidence to take the initiative to contact a GP directly when an issue arises.


Bernie Watt Boots, Ballymena


Bernie is a pharmacy advisor at Boots Ballymena Health Centre. She has worked in the pharmacy for 22 years and is responsible for ensuring that patients, who visit the pharmacy, receive the best possible service. Bernie takes an active role in the training and development of colleagues and her years of experience are evident as she confidently coaches trainees on the various aspects of the pharmacy advisor role.


Breige Lavery Northern Pharmacies, Craigavon


Breige Lavery has been a stalwart of Northern Pharmacies for more than 30 years. Based in the pharmacy that is attached to Craigavon Health Centre, she is instantly recognised by every patient, who enters the pharmacy today. During her 32 years’ journey with the pharmacy, Breige has undertaken many varied roles. Put simply, if a job needed done, Breige has done it. Her dedication has consistently demonstrated her willingness to carry out a range of support roles as and when needed.
