MEMBERS’ MATTERS M

embership is holding above the 6,000 level we reported in the last Bulletin and

our projection for the end of year subscription figure is looking to break the £½ million barrier for the first time. This is partly down to the limited life membership offer during the year, which raised an additional £72,000, plus a £48,000 contribution to the Scoreboard project, which incidentally I am sure you’ll agree looks splendid on the edge of the Paddock.

Winter Draw This year our Winter Draw will go towards crowd barriers for the Finishing Straight and you will receive two sets of tickets by mail. You do not have to take part in the draw but if you still wish to make a donation, of any amount, then you can do so by returning the form or calling the Brooklands Trust Museum office on 01932 857381 extension 226.

We are now fund-raising for crowd barriers for use on the Finishing Straight (Tim Morris).

Regalia We really enjoyed the Reunion this year and it was particularly special as the whole of the Finishing Straight could be used for demonstra- tion starts, with a fine collection of pre-war cars taking advantage of that opportunity. We sold the limited-edition Members’ Reunion badge on the day and they went like hot-cakes! However, we still have a few left and you can buy one on-line or by phone from the BTM office – at £7.50 to personal callers or £9 mail order. Talking of regalia, and as Christmas is

approaching, you could order your BTM clothing gifts from our on-line shops. Yes, we have two – the main clothing range is run by JTL Embroidery

Our BTM.TV project has gone public and you can now access a range of videos and podcasts from the BTM website at www.brooklandsmembers. co.uk then use the drop-down menu under ‘Archive’ to find BTM.TV. You’ll see direct links to some of our most recent and popular items or you can continue to our Vimeo, Soundcloud or Face- book channels to see the complete repertoire. Recent updates include the Howden Ganley evening and the Brooklands in the Great War talk.

Twice as lucky It looks like there has been a glitch in our run- out of membership cards for October renewals. Some Club level members who pay by direct debit in two instalments may have received an extra set of cards when their second instalment was due. We apologise for this and hopefully we have worked out how to stop this happening by the time of the next run-out!

Meeting your friends A reminder to Club level members that if you are meeting guests at the Museum (and you are not arriving together) then please greet them at the entrance in the Museum shop so that you can present your membership card to allow them ad-
