THE NOT SO SECRET PHOTO COMPETITION

f you follow our social media then you will have seen some great photos taken by members linked to our various pages on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. For the last few years we have held a ‘secret’ photo competition where we look back at those photos and choose one as our favourite of the year. This year we are taking a further step and introducing the first proper photo competition for members and their families. We want to see your best photos of the year that have been taken at Brooklands. They can be of cars, motorbikes, aeroplanes or from events. All entries will be put in an on-line album for you to view on Flickr. We are pleased that professional photographer Jason Dodd will be our head judge and he has also donated our top prize of a place on one of his photographic courses to be held at Brooklands in 2018. Jason provides a range of tuition from beginners through to more experienced car photography and one-day fashion courses aimed at improving your technique with a DSLR camera. The competition rules are simple: 1. The photo must have been taken between 11th November 2016 and 11th November 2017.
2. The subject must be taken at Brooklands – cars, planes, motorbikes, buildings, events etc.
3. Photos will be published in a Flickr gallery with public access.

Some ideas for your entries.
4. You can submit up to two of your digital photos.
5. Photos must be of a ‘reasonable’ size and quality – preferably over 1MB. If the image is not of sufficient resolution for printing, it may not be considered.
6. The competition opens on Sunday 1st October and closes at midnight on Saturday 11th November. Entries received after that date will not be considered.
7. The top 12 entries will be printed and published in a 2018 Brooklands Trust Mem- bers’ wall calendar which will be sold in aid of the Museum.
8. Normal editing of photos is allowed but anything considered by the judges as too ‘over the top’ will be discounted – so no Concordes on the moon thank you!
9. The competition is open to members, volunteers and their families only.
