T

he Brooklands Trust Members held its 2017 AGM in the Vickers Suite on 10th

May. After the Chairman Neil Bailey had introduced the Committee Members, Honorary Secretary Kevin Lee announced the apologies for absence received. Neil then gave an update on Honorary President Sir Stirling Moss, saying that he had returned to London but remained in hospital, before delivering his annual report (as published in the last Bulletin as ‘Chairman’s message’).Treasurer Gareth Tarr made his report. In response to the only question he received he explained that an increase in expenses was the result of the inclusion of VAT.

The formal business of the meeting concluded with the re-election of Officers and Committee Members, for which a vote was not necessary as only three people were standing and there were five vacancies.

The Chairman thanked David Hunter, a

founding Committee member who was standing down, and BTM Administrator Tim Morris then delivered his report on membership. You can see many of his statistics in ‘Members’ matters’. After a break for refreshments Committee members Angela Hume (driving events) and Steve Clarke (talks and Club level membership) made short presentations on their activities and Kevin Lee read a third from Rolie Luker (outreach) who had been unable to attend the meeting because of a slipped disc. Museum Director Allan Winn then took the meeting through all the developments currently happening with the Flight Shed, moving of the Hangar, re-opening of the Finishing Straight and the Scoreboard.

The evening concluded with Neil Bailey thanking Kevin Lee for his organisation of the meeting and Julian Grimwade for his assistance with IT and audio-visual presentation.
