The uncertain weather didn’t deter Surrey Fire & Rescue Service from extend- ing their aerial ladder platform from Leatherhead, right up into the sky to its full extent of 42 metres. Next to them in the Outer Paddock was a Royal Navy Bedford RLHZ ‘Green Goddess’, Surrey 4x4 Response and several ambulance crews. The Finishing Straight was the place to see the giant, heavy Scania recovery lorries that took on the task of the tanker tilt effortlessly. All in all it was a fantastic family day out attended this year by over 4,100 visitors, a slight increase from last year. Paul Stewart
