PHOENIX, ARIZONA: YOU CAN’T BEAT THEIR MEAT!

Desert Rose Steakhouse 6729 N. 57th Dr. Glendale, AZ 85307 The Desert Rose is a relatively new
steakhouse in downtown Glendale that friends suggested I try while visiting. My buddy Eric and I were early for dinner, so there were very few customers. I hear that most nights and weekends it is darn near im- possible to get a table, and I soon learned why.
Our youthful waiter was extremely
friendly and helpful the entire time. We or- dered the Steak for Two ($80). You get sal- ads, as well as two sides – asparagus and broccoli, along with a huge plate of meat. Se- riously folks, I have not seen that much steak
petit filet; an 8-oz Prime Rib; and a 12 oz. New York Strip, all certified Angus beef and cooked to perfec- tion. These are the kind of steaks where it would be a sin to reach for the steak sauce. That would ruin the flavor. After all, they are al- ready topped with the Rose’s house blended sea- soned butter. I truly cannot
find a strong enough adjective to describe just how good this meat was. Honestly. I have put away many a steak in my lifetime, but the Desert Rose steaks were by far the tastiest I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Oh, and the vegetables were excellent as well, I don’t want to skip over them. They were the perfect complement to the half a cow we ate. Long story short, this humble reporter
from South Carolina will never forget this late afternoon meal, and is looking forward to the next trip to Phoenix for another opportunity to visit what truly is a Rose in the Desert.
