show. And I thought I was a fan. We went from there straight into the

Danny Trejo panel. I could only do about half of Danny’s panel due to time constraints, but I found him to be a true delight. Funny, al- ways smiling, the complete opposite of most of the characters he plays. Why, he’s nothing at all like Machete! He talked about his line of taco stands, Trejo’s Tacos in L.A. One fan asked, would you ever open a stand in Ari- zona? To which he replied, “Yes, but I’d only be open at night, and in the winter.” He got quite a laugh from the Phoenix folks, who enjoy daily highs of 100 degrees and above all summer. One fan asked him how he chooses

what movies he wants to play in. Danny an- swered, “By the script. It’s According to how many people die in the first ten minutes.” More laughs. It was time for our first photo op of the

year. We had several scheduled. I do enjoy them, but it truly is a cattle call, especially for the more popular stars, with a huge line fol- lowed by 2-3 more huge groups waiting in Jerry-rigged corals. But being that Eric is a

true Comicon vet, he learned years ago to purchase a “Fast Pass” that allows him (plus his faithful friend, Buffalo) to bypass the line and go to the front. The only folks we are be- hind are the special needs fans, as it should be. They should always come first. When you get to the front of the line,

you see inside the tent where the pro photog- rapher is set up and you see just how little time you have with the star. They guide Eric and I quickly up, stand one on either side of the star or stars, and snap a photo. The sec- ond the shutter clicks, you are escorted out into a weaving line to pick up your 8 X 10 photo. Total star time amounts to maybe 30 seconds if you are lucky. You might get to say “I’m a fan, nice to meet you” although it’s not really “meeting them.” Still, we as fans are more than eager to be photographed with a celebrity. For many of ours, Eric uses the 30 seconds up presenting them with a Naval Chief Coin. Quite an honor. I have mine. Some of the stars who have served really get a kick out of it, and Eric always asks them to hold up the coin in the photo. He has a mas- sive collection of star photos holding the Chief coin. Our first celebrity was John Delancie. I

first saw John years and years ago when he played the character of Eugene on Days of Our Lives. My Mom and sister always
