Melin Nelson is not only an Orff Levels teacher but also has experience using the Dalcroze and Kodaly methods. She teaches K-5 music at St. Paul Academy and Summit School in St. Paul, MN, where she is also the Assistant Principal. Beth frequently presents workshops at the local, regional, and national level, and is a founding member of the adult performing ensemble Schulfunk. Her background includes experience as an early childhood teacher, artist in residence, and trained dancer.

pleasure of hosting John Feierabend, the creator of Conversational Solfege. Within two days, Dr. Feierabend walked the attendees through his approach to teaching K-5 students along with different games and quick student assessments. Many fun prizes were handed out with the grand prize, donated from Hill Music and worth $160, given to the lucky Louise Fritz for winning the Facebook post drawing.


there are two upcoming conferences you won’t want to miss! On October 14th, Warren Ainley will be in Cheyenne. Mr. Ainley has been teaching for 30 years and specializes in using children’s literature and poetry in the music classroom. Warren is currently teaching in Camas, Washington, a suburb of Vancouver. He is an active Orff-Schulwerk and movement presenter at local, regional, and national conferences.
