Secondary VP’s Message Continued

someone to feel like themselves and band is an atmosphere for everyone to be themselves, and without music life would be dull. It’s a universal language for everyone. – Mason

I first chose to join Band because

the high school band came and performed for the elementary school I was in. I was impressed. I wanted to be able to impress others like the band impressed me. Over time, music became one of the only things I find super fun. Band has also been the only way I’ve ever met any friends. Band has helped me realize that I can accomplish things. Thank you, Band! And thank you Sand! – Scott

In sixth grade, I thought that the

trumpet looked and sounded cool. Then I realized that it was fun and gave me something to do in my life. I am not good at much in life and I am not even that great at band, but it is fun and I have gained friends because of it. – Kayden

In 4th grade the jazz band came to

our school and they told me to do band so I did. Then when I got into it it was amazing. It was like having another family. – Kelbe

Why Band? Band is a supporter

of essential life skills. It shows to help pride, family, and cooperation. You help others even though you might not know them personally. You do things you might have never thought of doing. With Jazz, you can express yourself. With Marching, you can have something to be proud of. With Concert, you can make a beautiful piece of art that you can enjoy. – CJ

I love music because it has never

failed me. I moved from choir to band and still got the feelings yet stronger.

Music has taken my life over because it gives me feelings of hope and change and love. I love music because it pushes me to the limit every time. I love music because it builds friendships. I love music because I can be the best thanks to our program. That is why I love music. – Dalton

I chose music because it is the

only program that has not let me down. There is a different connection with band members than with any other sport or activity. This is my eighth year in band and it has impacted my life so much. I do not know if I would even be alive if I did not find joy or the feeling of pride I get when I play music. It has taught me to fall in love with my clarinet and that has motivated me so much throughout the years. – Macee

Music tells a story, I wanted to be

a part of the story. I grew up learning about music, constantly being quizzed and I wanted to be able to tell my own story. Or better yet tell someone else’s story, help them deliver the message that they envisioned when they were writing their art work. Stories are how people can pass on knowledge and how people did for years and years. Music is very important part of our culture, it drives people, inspires people, makes them sad or happy, helps them. – Emerald

I could give you the typical

“because music is my life” response, which it is, but music is honestly a lot more than that to me. I can’t think of a time when I was never able to play at least some kind of instrument, and I don’t want to because my brain just can’t wrap around how I survived without it. When I’m stressed I go and play music, when I’m sad I go and play music, when I don’t even see a reason to live at that moment I go and play

music. Because it pulls me out of that state of mind and brings me back to reality. I can’t imagine my life without music, and I’m glad that I don’t have to. – Sara

Music is capable of inspiring

more than anything else. It can change someone’s emotion almost instantly. It allows me to learn something beyond academics. – Kaleb

Why music? Because music can

express emotion without words at all. Because music stimulates the brain and releases dopamine. Because even the deaf can feel the vibrations and feel the moment. Music is an intangible yet beautiful device to reach out to humanity and bring us common ground. Music has always been my life force and it always will be. To be a part of the music, to be making the music, is to be creating brilliance. Nothing matches the rush you feel when playing the notes exactly right. Being in multiple music classes gives me a sense of accomplishment as I produce something that most everybody loves. Why music? Because music is mine and I can do with it whatever I want. – Allyson

I chose to have music in my life

because it is literally my life. Music brings me joy. Music relieves my stress. Music itself is the basis of my inspirations and goals. On the other hand, I chose music because of the perks that it brings. Because of music I have a whole extra family. Because of music in the car good experiences are amplified. And the adrenaline from making music is life changing. I chose music because without it my life would be unpleasant, sad, stressful, and quite frankly empty. Because music is life. – Remington
