Volunteer At Broadstone Youth Club


Now that the summer holidays are over, we are looking forward to seeing the young people who have just gone into Year 9, hearing all about their long (not very hot) summer and supporting them as most of them get used to their new school. They will continue on a Wednesday evening, from 7.15- 9pm. There are spaces for new members, and we will have membership forms available on the first evening, which is Wednesday 13th September.


We are also excited to be welcoming a new group of young people to Broadstone Youth Club – Year 8 children, some of whom have been eagerly waiting to join for some time. Children from the Broadstone area, whatever school they attend, are very welcome to join our Yr8 club, which will be running on Thursday evenings from 7.15-8.45pm during term time, starting on Thursday 14th September.


There is no joining fee, we simply ask that a registration form is completed when the young person first joins us, and there is a £1 weekly sub. We also have a very well priced tuck shop, so we recommend sending your sons and daughters with some extra cash!


We are delighted to have been given some new equipment over the summer and to have been approached by one new volunteer for the team. However, we have said goodbye to two of last years volunteers due to ill health and other commitments, so we need a couple more people to step forward.


We are still hopeful of opening up for an additional year group but, as we do not get any staff support from Borough of Poole, we will need to recruit a new team of volunteers before we can do this. No experience is necessary, just a sense of humour, and it helps if you enjoy the company of children of course!
