EMERGENCY RESPONSE

…lives are in our hands, it is imperative to be at the top of our game.

a remarkably matter of fact way …I was particularly agog at their modesty and in my mind, bravery at dealing regularly with potentially life threatening scenarios

AND ACTION…

Jens and his colleagues provide essential training for clients and a whole host of different methods of rescue and evacuation from turbines and heights generally. This enables those faced with unforeseen occurrences to deal with potentially life-threatening situations with efficiency and calmness.

Jens goes on to say that the company offers a complete bespoke solution for clients and are uniquely served as they have the pick of the best kit and apparatus to enable complete certitude in their equipment and experience.

SCENARIO

During training Jens and Ronnie undertake many potential scenarios of rescue from falls within the turbine to dealing with an unconscious patient whereupon rescue and evacuation is more than challenging within extremely restrictive circumstances. This is where Dead Fred (aka Man-e-Quin) comes to

the fore as an essential member of the team, always uncomplaining and utterly fearless he has been in many a scrape and has demonstrated fortitude when dangling from great heights, over stormy seas!

QUITE A TEAM!

Ronnie goes on to say in one situation the client was to deal with an emergency, unbeknown to them it was a full drill, situation critical – patient unconscious (aka Dead Fred) inside 106m mast – with training and professionalism the situation was dealt with and the patient on the ground in 30 minutes – in a real life situation – saving a life!

FACTOID A controlled descent when evacuating a patient equipment allows for a mind boggling 0.8m per second descent!!!

AND ANOTHER THING… Providers of PPE equipment (head to toe) ComtecInt UK also provide the legally required six-monthly inspections for safety certificates. Its products are fully compliant with a range of safety standards such as Safety of Life at Sea

and the European Technical Standards Order for offshore helicopters

KINMANSHIP

On a personal level Jens goes on to say “…lives are in our hands, it is imperative to be at the top of our game.” As he speaks there is a kinmanship/trust between these two men that is almost palpable. In short their lives depend on one another on numerous occasions which goes beyond the spoken word – it just IS.

IN A NUTSHELL

I felt privileged to have a small insight into their working lives and shall look forward to the continuation of the successes afforded by this company and recount this in future issues.
