CLIENT SUCCESS STORY 1 Transfer vessels offer flexibility and control to confined space, rope access and NDT inspection.
THE CHALLENGE:
A client needed inspection and NDT works in the confined space of 140 wind turbines. Technicians needed to inspect the grouted connection, jacking point defects and working platform attachment defects. Rope access technicians were needed on higher risk assets because of accesses.
THE SOLUTION: The company provided two teams of inspection technicians to perform

Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) and Ultrasonic Inspection (UT) inspections on the transition piece jacking points.
A supporting team visited the higher risk structures to set up rope access equipment ahead of the inspection teams.
They provided crew transfer vessels because of the number of structures and the need to be flexible across the assets.
RESULTS:
The company continues to support the site, including providing inspection teams, producing daily reports to analyse the condition of turbine structures.

THE CHALLENGE: 3sun Group was tasked with identifying and reporting grout defects, taking
measurements to identify TP slippage, identifying and recording weld defects and their depth using UT test in a confined space.
SOLUTION:
The company supplied two teams of six technicians for the inspection and testing of the TP group and bearing plate welds using UT and MPI testing methods.
RESULTS:
The client was provided with comprehensive reports, including photographs of defects and installed an elevator barrier/gate installed at no additional cost to the client. All work scopes were completed maintaining safe systems of work.
