Finca San Miguel de Salinas is an animal sanctuary, supported by Happy Animales Orihuela and founded by Mona Nowak. Living at the finca are 8 horses, 4 ponies, 6 goats, 13 geese, 2 dogs, chickens, 4 pigs, and 12 feral cats.
On the last Saturday of the month there is an Open Day, with food, drinks, cake, music and sometimes a raffle. Everyone is welcome to join us for a nice afternoon with the animals, and you can bring apples, carrots, lettuce, tomatoes - or even dog and cat food.
All the money raised goes towards the animals, for food, water, vets bills, hay, blacksmith, rent and repairs.
Unfortunately the water pump broke down in February, costing 2000€, which took almost all the money left, but the animals need water!
The goats and the geese need a bigger area to live, the baby geese born in March this year are not babies anymore!! If you would like to help this animal sanctuary, please do, you can come to the open days or become a food sponsor from 5€ per month or more, or give a donation. Maybe you like to organise a raffle, a sponsored run, or other event to help raise money for the animals. Long term sponsors are very welcome. On the 4th June from midday to 6pm there will be a Fleamarket at the Finca, maybe you will find a bargain
....and you will also help the animals!
