The proof of the pudding is always in the eating

You never know when you might need an ambulance, and of course we hope that you never will, but if you do need one in a hurry then the Asociacion Amigos Europeos de Javea (AAEdJ) have just demonstrated their ability to find someone quickly, give emergency treatment and get them to hospital.

Marilyn Stanley lives in Moraira and was shutting her wrought iron entrance gate, when by accident it caught her on the back of her leg. It was one of those silly, unexpected accidents that can happen so quickly, in a flash, or in the blink of an eye. Marilyn fell to the ground in agony, and even after a few minutes she couldn’t walk on her leg, and to all intents and purposes it seemed as if her leg was broken. Although she and her husband Den managed to get her back into their house, Den was obviously extremely concerned and worried, and telephoned the AAEdJ 24 hour emergency number and was passed to someone who spoke English. After Den explained what had happened, an AAEdJ ambulance was immediately despatched and arrived at their Moraira home within 20 minutes.

“I couldn’t believe the pain, it was so excruciating” says Marilyn. “I was really happy when the ambulance arrived, the men were absolutely brilliant, they were really nice, and extremely professional. After an examination they too were concerned that my leg might be broken, so an x-ray was needed. They supported my leg with a polystyrene cover, I was wheelchaired to the ambulance and placed onto the stretcher. A few moments later I was on my way to the main Hospital in Denia where thankfully an x-ray showed that my leg wasn’t broken, but was seriously injured. Even today, 15 days after the accident, my leg is really painful” says Marilyn.

“We were really pleased with the service” confirms Den who continues “In short I would say it was exceptional. And we would recommend their service to everyone”.

The AAEdJ covers almost all of Costa Blanca North. It is only called the Asociacion Amigos Europeos de Javea because the association started its life in Javea, and its Head Office is still located there. But its fleet of Ambulances operate all over the area, and Marilyn and Den Stanley in Moraira can vouch for how good the service is.

For just €50 FOR THE YEAR for the WHOLE FAMILY this cover isn’t a ‘nice to have’....it is a ‘need to have’. To become a member of the AAEdJ call and speak with Laure Bolufer the Registration Manager on 96 579 6099 (Laure works from 10am to 1pm every weekday).
