Home Library Service

Do you like to read, but fi nd it diffi cult to get to the library? We might be able to help.

Local libraries have teams of dedicated Royal Voluntary Service (RVS) volunteers who are able to visit on a regular basis, choosing and delivering the books you want from the library to your home, free of charge. It is available across the area to anyone who cannot easily get to their local library, and can be provided on a temporary or long-term basis.

All RVS volunteers are DBS checked and receive ongoing training and support. The RVS can also provide befriending, help with shopping, and other things you might need – just get in touch.

We are currently looking for more volunteer drivers for 2-3 hours every three weeks. You would be using your own car and receive a mileage allowance of 45p per mile.

For more info, contact Atsuko Mason, Dorset Home Library Service Administrator, on 01305 236666 or email: mason.atsuko@royalvoluntaryservice.org.uk
