Stepping Stones – A Broadstone Dementia Project
We are pleased to now offer the Home Safely Scheme for Broadstone residents.
Throughout the year, some people living with Dementia are found lost and confused – not remembering where they live or who they are. If you are a carer and this is a concern for you then this scheme may help you and the person for whom you are caring.
Thanks to donations in memory of Jack Miller and Broadstone Neighbourhood Watch, Stepping Stones has been able to purchase a number of safety bracelets. Each bracelet is supplied with a unique PIN number and Poole Lifeline’s telephone number. Poole Lifeline will hold the carer’s contact details and information relating to the person with dementia and when telephoned and given the unique PIN number, will contact the named carer(s) and if necessary police/emergency services. Currently a £30 one-off payment is payable to Poole Lifeline and will be covered by the Better Care Fund.

Our regular Stepping Stones activities continue: a reading and listening group runs every Monday, from 11am-12 noon in Broadstone Library, and drop in for tea and chat every second Friday in the month, from 2.15-4pm at Broadstone Methodist Church Coffee Lounge. All are welcome.
