Brooklands Flying Club member’s badge We are very pleased to add a 1939 Brooklands Flying Club member’s badge to our collection. Unfortunately we do not know anything about the owner of the badge, number 256. ‘K Crick’ is scratched onto the back and we can guess that this was the name of the owner, but sadly the clues stop there. We are extremely grateful to Margaret Jones for its donation.

BROOKLANDS AIRCRAFT FACTORY AND RACE TRACK REVIVAL

he Wellington Hangar was closed to visitors at the end of August and Brymor Construction handed over the first floor of the Flight Shed to the Museum on the 5th Septem- ber. The next two and a half weeks saw furious activity by a large team of volunteers and the Curatorial and Property Teams as the contents of the Wellington Hangar were relocated to new homes. Many of the smaller aeroplanes and arte- facts that will feature in the new Aircraft Factory displays were carefully moved to the Flight Shed, where they will be stored for the next few months. They will not be on public display during this time, although we will be able to bring out aeroplanes such as the Sopwith Camel for engine runs at events.
