An innovative corporate event was held at Drexelbrook that took on the theme of the popular TV series, The Love Boat. “We created seven distinctive restau- rants," says Domenick Savino, CPCE, CEO of Drexelbrook Catering. “There was dinner with the Captain, railed seating around the dance floor, and a tent erected at the back of the ballroom that became the dessert pavilion. The cast and crew were even there, with actors in costume playing the roles of Captain Stubing, Doc, Gopher, Julie McCoy and Ace, the ship’s photogra- pher... We can bring any theme to life!”


“We hold quite a few large events each year,” says Domenick Savino, CPCE, CEO of Drexelbrook Catering. “Up to 10,000 people can share pre-event space and then enter the grand ballroom. Many events are even bigger. The recent launch of Destination Delco (the con- ference and visitors bureau of Delaware County’s recent rebranding) gave us a chance to showcase our facility and food to hundreds of guests. Five sepa- rate areas illustrated the county from Brandywine to Crossroads, Riverside to Main Street and the Main Line. Green signs resembling those seen on major highways hung from customized lighted trusses. There were presentations, food and beverage stations, a Roadster Car photo op, valet parking, along with mod- els that were courtesy of Mid-Atlantic Events Magazine.”


The event's menu was reflective of the offerings within the county. Riverside served a whole porchetta with gravy, long hots, El Cubanos and tropical chips. A raw bar with jumbo shrimp,


crab claws, tuna ceviche and lump crab cocktail was representative of the Crossroads neighborhood. Brandywine was a hit with three cheese tortellini pasta accompanied by local mush- rooms, chicken sausage, roasted fennel, sautéed spinach and smoked onions in a hazelnut brown butter sauce. The Main Line’s sophisticated selections included marinated petit tender fin- ished on salt blocks with a Delaware County lager reduction, truffle-infused mashed potatoes and pan-seared Brussels sprouts. It was all desserts at the Main Street stop. Sweet treats were Linvilla Farms' Apple Betty with Handel’s cinnamon ice cream, caramel sauce with whipped cream and Pour Richard’s Custom Roasted Coffee, as well as a signature drink of blended bourbon, pear nectar and ginger ale.
