The 260,000-square foot Wildwoods Convention Center is located within a day’s drive of one-third of America’s population, and can accommodate groups as large as 10,000 attendees. Convention areas can be divided into numerous configurations, and planners appreciate on site catering and communications which serve to enhance events.

services,

One of the most praised features of the center is a Teflon-coated fabric roof that adds to an acoustically stable interior. The roof pours natural light onto show floors and permits interior lighting to illuminate the roof at night.

Other attributes of this attractive convention center are a board- walk extension with direct beach access, spectacular glass doors and 20,000-square feet of ballroom and meeting space. The 75,000-square foot exhibition hall can be split into two spacious areas, as well.

There is on site parking for 600 vehicles and 38 blocks of board- walk fun and entertainment. The combination of the most up-to- date high tech amenities and an experienced event planning staff draws large meetings, events, trade shows and conventions year after year.

One size never fits all.”

An interesting mix of large events is held at the convention center: a four-day reli- gious retreat and conference attended by 5,000 people; up to 24,000 people gather for a quilt show and contest; while 10,000 Anime and Sci-Fi aficionados choose the site for their convention.

The Lancaster Chamber of Commerce annual dinner brought 2,500 guests to the center last summer. “The chamber has a 'think local' theme and our culinary team, from kitchen to banquet, goes all out to present as many Lancaster-based resources as possible,” points out Nowak. “These products range from linen to hun- dreds of pounds of food.”

Oh, Those Wildwood Days

Some might think the Wildwoods Convention Center is only a summertime kind of place. This is definitely not so. “We are open 12 months a year,” announces John Lynch, director of sales and enter- tainment for the center. “There are events held 47 weekends, and as many as 240,000 people pass through in any given year. We expect even more folks in 2016. When the boardwalk is your front door and the beach and ocean is your backdoor, the Wildwoods Convention Center is an idyllic setting for diverse groups. We can accom- modate events for 2,000 to 7,000, and the SMERF (social, military, educational, reli- gious, fraternal) market is especially fond of our venue.”

The center’s rear wall is floor-to-ceiling glass overlooking dunes, beach and ocean. “I can’t think of a more gorgeous view,” proclaims Lynch. “Large groups agree. We recently held Cheer Tech, which is an annual competition among 5,000 cheerleaders from all over the northeast- ern United States. An Irish Dance contest brings in 2,000 talented men and women, while the New Jersey Fire Expo takes over the entire parking lot. This is the largest exposition of its kind east of the Mississippi River.”
