out in a stunning setting. The theatre has been presenting an outdoor Summer Arts Festival at Hever Castle for more than 30 years, and this year is excited to be working with the Hever Castle Golf Club, who is sponsoring the festival. Situated, just one mile from the castle’s main entrance, the club welcomes both golfers and non-golfers alike. A benefi t of this sponsorship for the theatre’s audience is that it has meant that ticket prices have not gone up this year, making the shows even better value for money, and encouraging more people to enjoy the experience. The new season is booking better than ever and entertainment runs until the end of August. • Details on the theatre and all shows can be found at
www.heverfestival.co.uk or call the festival box offi ce on 01732 866114.

Wanna dance? Tunbridge Wells-based dance school The Dance Consortium built on their success at the Tunbridge Wells Dance Festival by winning a total of 91 ‘gongs’, including 26 fi rst places and 14 cups at the recent Tonbridge Dance Festival. The school also picked up the award for the highest aggregate score across the festival – just recognition for all the hard work and commitment from everyone involved. Many of the winning dances scored well above the qualifying mark for the County Semi Finals, which are due to take place in Cranbrook later in the year. A tremendous amount of work goes into
preparing all the dancers for the festivals, making sure everything needed is just right – costumes, footwear, props as well as hair and make-up. “What I think makes The Dance Consortium unique is that it’s not just about dance training – the faculty instils in all their pupils a sense of pride, discipline and confi dence and they teach their pupils about creativity and wonderful story telling,” said one parent. Offering ballet, jazz, tap, modern and national dance training, The Dance Consortium is one of the most exciting dance schools in the area, accepting pupils from the age of four years.
• For further information about The Dance Consortium, contact the School principal, Alison Cripps, on 01892 822539.
