ife-saving charity Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance is appealing for cyclists to sign up for this year’s Double 100 Cycle Challenge and help save lives at night. The 100- mile or 100km bike ride will be held on Sunday, 28th September, to mark the fi rst anniversary of the launch of the night fl ying service.
Last year’s annual event raised more than £12,000 and organisers are aiming to double its success this year with two starting points at the helicopter bases at Marden and Redhill. Both new circular routes will include all counties covered by the Air Ambulance and this year’s Double 100 has been backed by main sponsor Fidelity Worldwide Investment. Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance launched its night fl ying service last September in a move expected to benefi t a further 400 to 500 patients a year. The charity now has to raise an extra £1 million a year to fund the cost of a 24-hour service, up from £5 million to £6 million.

Canterbury-based Canoe Wild provides paddling experiences on the beautiful River Stour in the Stodmarsh Nature Reserve between Grove Ferry and Forwich, near the historic city of Canterbury. They offer a wide range of activities for canoeing and kayaking. Sessions and courses are tailored to meet your needs and requirements. All courses are to the British Canoe Union (BCU) syllabus. Other courses and pool sessions are also available, and Duke of Edinburgh expeditions are available to all groups.
