STRUCTURE ASSESSMENTS (ROPE ACCESS, UNDERWATER DIVING, AND IMAGING)


The company has undertaken structural assessments of renewable energy structures and is looking forward to broadening its client list with its other services as well, such as underwater 3-D high resolution imaging to provide owners significant value in monitoring submerged conditions before, during and after installation for warranty, certification, and scour monitoring purposes.


Collins has used a variety of non- destructive testing methods and has developed training worldwide on marine structure design, assessment and repair topics. This offers flexibility in its inspection services, offering both underwater and above water capabilities that employ engineer-divers.


ASSET MANAGEMENT


Often, the company’s services include assembling structure inventory data into purpose built databases that manage inspection and maintenance records by storing data and photographs, allowing sorting by user-specified characteristics, and having the capability to print one-page summaries of each structure.


The service also provides a simple but powerful algorithm for prioritising maintenance and repair operations based on the condition of the structure and its role in the overall system. These databases can be modified and customised to meet any special requirements of an agency to co-ordinate the data with other asset management systems.


CASE STUDY


SSE (Airtricity) Wind Turbine Foundation Inspection Training Development Collins was commissioned to develop and conduct a comprehensive two-day wind turbine foundation inspection training course for the owner’s engineering and operations staff.
