SKILLS GAP UPDATE SAFETY & ACCESS


Falls from height remain the single biggest cause of workplace deaths and a leading cause of major injury. Safety & Access, work at height specialists, offer expert advice and training in this high risk area. Their training portfolio includes courses for management and operatives, all delivered by experienced staff at CATCH, onsite or at one of their other purpose-built training centres. Their consultancy services include independent site audits, monitoring and inspections and health & safety consultancy.


HUMBERSIDE ENGINEERING TRAINING ASSOCIATION (HETA)


HETA operates from three sites across the Humber, including CATCH. The company trains around 200 Level 3 Advanced Apprentices a year for over 180 companies including Ecotricity, RES and Centrica Renewables. Apprentices come through a six-step selection process and 46 weeks training (Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Wind Turbine Technician or Welding & Fabrication) before going into company full time from Year 2-4.


They also offer industry courses including City and Guilds, Wind Turbine Technician NVQ’s, Small Bore Tubing, Mechanical Commex, 17th Edition, 2394 & 5 and a suite of Health & Safety courses.


HULL COLLEGE


Hull College recognises renewable energy as the Humber’s greatest economic opportunity, both in terms of capital investment and careers. Utilising the world class facilities at CATCH, Hull College is providing a new generation of young people with the technical and behavioural skills demanded by the energy and process industries. With a focus on STEM subjects and the development of transferable skills, companies can have confidence to invest in the Humber knowing that there is a ready workforce.


THE GRIMSBY INSTITUTE GROUP


The Grimsby Institute Group has three divisions at CATCH offering industry-recognised qualifications to upskill or retrain, including Fast Track to Process Operations, NEBOSH General Certificate & Diploma, NEBOSH Environmental Certificate and a portfolio of First Aid at Work qualifications used by the renewables sector. Courses take advantage of the excellent, industry-standard facilities at CATCH to support employers with their staff training needs.


REYNOLDS TRAINING


Reynolds Training recognises that the evolution of the Humber into a renewable energy hub is generating an increased need for independent health and safety oversight. Utilising the impressive facilities at CATCH with their engaging training style, they help renewable energy and other high hazard sites stay safe and comply with laws. Reynolds Training offers accredited courses including CIEH, IOSH and NEBOSH or can deliver bespoke material to meet your specific requirements including Permit to Work and Process Safety.
