MARCH 2013
Diamond Valley Lake Spring Flowers in Bloom in March What better way to spend an afternoon than strolling through fields of wildflowers. This is the time of the year
and Diamond Valley Lake has a one mile walking trail that is suitable for everyone. First and foremost, Diamond Valley Lake is a lifeline for Southern California in times of drought. The lake holds
enough water to meet the area’s emergency and drought needs for six months and is an important component in Metropolitan’s plan to provide a reliable supply of water to the 18 million peo- ple in Southern California who count on us. Diamond Valley Lake is embarking on a substantial trail system that will
allow visitors to hike and ride through the hill surrounding the reservoir. The first set of trails are along the north hills overlooking the lake, and another cir- cumnavigates the lake. The new trails feature wildflowers through out the year that include: Baby
Blue Eyes, Blue Dick, Ranchers Fiddleneck, California Poppy, Owl’s Clover, Arroyo Lupine, Caterpillar Phacelia, California Goldfields, Canterbury Bells, Brittlebush, Chia and more. Visit Diamond Valley Lake to learn more about what the lake offers. Please
call ahead to be advised on flowers in bloom. The season is very dependent on weather. Marina Office - (951) 926-7201 or (800) 590-LAKE
