Shepherd of Life Lutheran Church Receives $5,000
‘Economic Outreach Bridge Grant’ to Benefit H.O.P.E.
Shepherd of Life Lutheran Church
(SOLLC), Lake Elsinore, CA, recently received a $5,000 “Lutheran Commu- nity Economic Outreach Bridge Grant” from the Thrivent Financial for Luther- ans Foundation. The funding was awarded to SOLLC partnering with Helping Our People in Elsinore (H.O.P.E.) based on its effectiveness in addressing basic needs of the local community such as food and clothing. SOLLC has also elected to par-
ticipate in a complementary two-to- one challenge grant program sponsored by the Foundation. For every dollar raised by SOLLC from donors by Mar. 31, 2013, the Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Foundation will provide an additional 50 cents— up to $5,000—in support of H.O.P.E.’s food & backpack ministry.

Young Lives Campaign HomeAid Inland Empire is
working to finalize plans for its 4th annual Essentials for Young Lives campaign, a community-wide ef- fort to collect much-needed baby care items for infants and toddlers who reside in homeless shelters across San Bernardino and River- side counties. The 2013 collec- tion drive will take place March 22-29. Businesses, community or-
ganizations and individuals are in- vited to participate in the drive by collecting essential baby items in- cluding disposable diapers, baby wipes, baby food and baby hy- giene products, as well as paper products like paper towels, toilet paper and tissues. Among the recipients of the
Essentials baby item donations from this year’s collection cam- paign are: Project T.O.U.C.H. in Temecula; Valley Restart Center in Hemet. For more information about
