EUROPEAN LIVING REINVENTED IN OLDTOWN OLD TOWN.TEMECULA By Carol Malin Get inspired at Euro-

pean Living in Old Town Temecula. One glace into this cheery little shop on Main Street is a pick-me- up. The place was rein- vented last summer when Christine Bristol took own- ership and gave the busi- ness a makeover. She has created a beautiful environ- ment for you to enjoy and has some wonderful ideas to share about how to beautify your home with signature French Country linens. The shop’s collection

of colorful 100-percent cot- ton French Country table cloths, known worldwide for their quality and dura- bility, bring to mind sunny days and clear blue skies. European Living also stocks aprons and dish-

towels, as well as oilcloths and Teflon treated tablecloths that are wonderful for indoor or outdoor use because they resist spills and stains.

MARCH 2013

Bristol announced that she is hosting her first Quarterly Trunk Show

Event at European Living in late March. The date and time is to be an- nounced. Invitations are being sent to those on her preferred customer list. If you are interested in attending, she is extending the invitation and suggests you come into the shop and sign up. Her European linen supplier will be present for this special evening event. Refreshments will be served. European Living has added choice garden and kitchen items to the in-

ventory alongside the French table linens. The shop also carries the Mistral line of French milled soaps that are crafted according to a time-honored tra- dition and scented with the highest quality fragrances, as well as Pre de Provence bath and beauty products made from pure, natural ingredients. With the help of her twin teen daughters, Sydney and Sarah, and with

her dedicated Shih Tzu dog, Star, at her side, Bristol says she shaped Euro- pean Living to be a comfortable and friendly place for customers to shop. “What you see here is a labor of love,” explains Bristol. “I spent 25 years in the homebuilding and mortgage industries but it was my dream to open a little shop of my own one day—and here it is. When I bought the business it needed to be revamped and I took several months to do it right. I welcome visitors to my store to take a look around and see if they like what we’ve done with the place and to peruse the merchandise brought in from France and across Europe.” Bristol is willing to donate her time to help other Old Town shopkeepers

spruce up their stores to meet the times. She is a dedicated member of the Old Town Rotary and she sits on the Old Town Merchants Committee, a group formed to focus on the needs of the merchants. They are putting their efforts together to uncover new ways to increase business traffic in town. The group is in its infancy and they are working to gain strength to effect change. European Living is an excellent place for decorating dreamers in need a

quick fix of inspiration to stop in and gather a few ideas or to pick up a new treasure. There are many lovely things here that would make a nice acces- sory for your home and there are countless items that may be a just-right gift for a special friend. When you drop by just tell ‘em Star, the shop dog, sent you.
