was evident. The
chicken breast was lean and moist, sea- soned with an espresso salt crumble that gave it a robust flavor. It was served with hazelnut gnocchi and baby brussel sprouts, all over a sa- vory pool of butternut squash-mascarpone puree.
To sample Temet Grill’s beef offerings, we tried a small taste of both the
Grilled Flat Iron Steak and Braised Beef Cheek. The steak was perfectly grilled, served with a mustard and fig demi-glace that added a sweetness to the flavor of the meat. Accompanying the steak was a side of crispy polenta, fried in carmelized onions and applewood-smoked bacon, infusing the dish with a delicious smokiness. The beef cheeks were braised for about 4 – 5 hours, making them in-
credibly tender and flavorful. The beef was drizzled with an intensely rich cocoa reduction sauce that had us scraping the plate for the last drop. Served with crème fraiche whipped potatoes and a side of carrots, this was comfort food with a creative flair. After gorging ourselves on all the entrees, we thought there was no way
we could eat a bite of dessert. The Guinness Chocolate Cheesecake proved us wrong. The top of the cheesecake was bruléd with a crispy coating of carmelized sugar, adding a unique texture and layer of flavor. The moist cheesecake floated in a rich sauce, with the Guinness enhancing the choco- late so that it wasn’t too sweet. We managed to devour every bit of the

cheesecake, a decadent end to a delicious meal. All the dishes at Temet Grill were aesthetically fantastic to look at, and
the flavors were subtle and multi-layered. Balance, texture, and creativity were all important elements that made our meal stand out from most dinners that we have tried locally. As we finished our glasses of wine, we looked around the dining room and visualized how the new makeover would trans- form the restaurant.
If the changes in design are anything like the makeover
to the new menu, foodies in this Valley may find they have a new favorite spot for fine dining. Temecula Creek Inn is located in southern Temecula at 44501 Rainbow
