Sticking Together For Three Peaks Challenge

…news in brief…

Making A Difference Kathryn Lock, purchase ledger clerk, at Rio Pools has just taken on the Bristol half marathon in aid of two worthy causes. Kathryn was raising money on behalf of

the Nicola Corry Support Foundation, www. ncsf.org.uk, in memory of a friend and young mother who was diagnosed with cancer and tragically died soon after giving birth, and ‘Bristol Area Kidney Patients’ Association (BAKPA), in tribute to her late Dad. “Kathryn is a complete marvel, there is literally nothing she can’t do,” says Shelley Wilcox of Rio Pools.

A team from ARDEX UK and Building Adhesives Limited completed the National Three Peaks Challenge this summer in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital raising £10,000 in sponsorship. The money will be specifi cally ued on the ward that continues to care for Olivia, the 15-month-old daughter of Mark Dove, area sales manager East Anglia and his wife Charlotte.

A hardy bunch of eight participants, along with a fantastically supportive back up team, took part in the challenge that involves climbing Britain’s three highest peaks, Ben Nevis in Western Scotland (4,409 ft), Scafell Pike in the Lake District (3,209 ft)

and Snowdon in North Wales (3,560 ft), all within 24 hours; a total hike of 11,178 ft,

driving 415 miles between the mountains. “I have to say, the effort and camaraderie of everyone in our team was immense,” said Peter Bell, managing director of ARDEX and Building Adhesives Limited. “This challenge provided us with not only a physical challenge, but one where we had to overcome mental fatigue as well.

“I would like to thank and praise my colleagues, who were inspirational and showed what can be achieved through teamwork and endeavour.” ARDEX Tel. +44 (0)1440 714939 www.ardex.co.uk

A mere four weeks later he was no longer with us.

Cancer is an awful disease and once again Jayne is trying to raise funds for Cancer Research UK with a tandem skydive. Please give generously at:
