Evolve Your Life Purpose

By Lisa Michaels

Magic happens at the sweet spot in life, music, and sports. Everything simply lines up and the energy flows in the experience as if touched by grace. When you are living from your life pur- pose you often find yourself magically in the sweet spot. But getting there or evolving your life purpose can feel full of confusion and struggle.

The struggle often begins with the common misconception many women have about their life purpose. If you are like most women, you believe your life purpose relates to the “job, work, or career” you pursue. Actually, when you fully understand life purpose, you realize there are multiple ways it can be creatively expressed in business and in life.

Women frequently find themselves off- track with their life purpose because they look to the outside world and the roles they play in life to define their purpose. Actually, the more time a woman spends looking to the outer world for her life purpose, the more frustrated she usually becomes about not finding it. Additionally, women often think their life purpose is some- thing they define once, and then that’s it. They think that it will be clear what to do with it in the world.

But living your life purpose is a soul- filled creative process, an on-going act of creation. So, the more you under- stand how creation functions and learn to trust in the creative process, the easier it is to uncover your life purpose, take it to the next level, and to express it fully.

With any creation there is always an el- ement of mystery. Creation is magical, not logical or practical or predictable. Creation produces inexplicable and extraordinary results.

One of the most basic acts of creation is birthing a child. A couple trying to conceive a baby never knows which egg and sperm will unite to create a child, or if they have the energy between them to bring forth another human life. When the energies of a creation join in alchemical union, ini- tially they grow mostly in the dark, out of sight, underground, in a womb, or in your own inner consciousness rather than in the outer world.

Discovering your life purpose comes from learning to recognize the creative urges you experience, uncovering the elemental archetypes that make up your inner creation team, treasure hunting for your unique inner gifts,

and allowing the alchemical process to reveal your unique creation essence. Once you understand your life purpose, there can be a wide variety of career and business paths you can follow to express it outwardly.

In our fast-paced society, taking the time needed for a process of discov- ery and inner transformation seems impossible and yet it is exactly what is required for your life purpose to fully reveal itself. In the same way, a truly nourishing soup needs slow cooking for the raw ingredients to transform into a delicious flavor, or fine wine and aged cheese need the process of time to enhance their character, patient and deep inner listening is required to bring forth your unique life purpose gifts.

The inscription at the Temple of Delphi “Know Thyself” speaks directly to the task at hand as you, a modern woman, move beneath the surface of your life to excavate the inner treasures of your purpose. You might have many ques- tions as you realize this powerful life purpose discovery happens within. Where do you begin in this process? What tools do you need to take with you on your journey? Will you have a guide on your inner expedition?
