It’s a huge juggling act that’s been

complicated by the introduction of the government’s Carbon Reduction Commitment, which will see bigger companies paying for the carbon they produce. Recently, and particularly in the public sector,

decisions have been taken because they tick the right box environmentally – even if they don’t necessarily stack up from a business point of view. With all these elements feeding into

whole life costing, there’s no way that decisions should be left to the man in the suit with his spreadsheet. After all, he’s not the one who will be running the building – or the business.
