let the people have their say by
carrying out a Vox Populi - a
voice of the people opinion poll.
The responses reveal that
Macau citizens have a deep and
varied set of concerns about
the future of their city - from
the mundane to the highly
philosophical.
Worries range from health
care, education, the labour market
and security, but high on the list
of issues to be addressed in our
“If I was in Power...’’ survey is
the environment in which the
city’s half-a-million residents live
and work. From traffic congestion
to landscaping, this is a key area
of concern for many.
Some responses - taken from
people from every walk of life,
some well-known, others not so
much - verge on the esoteric. But
that’s Macau, a city of opinions
and frustrations.
Curiously, few voices demand
deep political reform, an outcome
which can be interpreted more as
expression of prudence than of
conviction.
