rom repairs to tool supply to cleaning, the list of automotive services is long, and there is no shortage of opportunities to join a prosperous franchise

brand in this industry.

Choosing to run a franchise business instead of going it alone can make a huge difference to the rate of growth and success you experience, as a franchisor will often have an existing list of nationwide clients and contracts, meaning you can start generating revenue quickly. As well as this, a franchisor will provide the proven practices and processes that create a strong business.

So, with all the necessary training and support taken care of, whether you are a car enthusiast or have no previous experience in the industry, you could run an automotive business. These types of franchises are often operated on a one-man-in-a-van scale, which gives you the flexibility to schedule appointments at times that fit around family life. Many brands’ models have room for expansion to a permanent premises or further vehicles as you develop the business at your own pace. Following are four successful franchise owners who each share stories from and insights into their working lives in the thriving automotive sector.

ichael and his wife Dianna own a Fibrenew franchise in Virginia, US, which they purchased 13 years ago. Prior to owning a

franchise, Michael was a driver with UPS.

Why did you decide to run a franchise in the automotive sector, and why Fibrenew?

When my wife and I first considered a Fibrenew mobile franchise, we realised we could have both the financial freedom we sought and the flexibility to be available for our kids’ little league schedules, horseback riding lessons and concerts at school, and more.

What training and support do Fibrenew provide? Fibrenew’s annual regional seminars are one of the best parts of our varied and robust support system. There is also a hugely valuable mentorship programme, of which I am a mentor myself.

What are your plans for the future of the business? We are currently branching out into the medical market working in dental clinics, with chiropractors, physical therapists and more. We have also just hired a full-time technician to help us efficiently manage the new influx of business.

What advice would you give to anyone considering franchising? You have to be willing to go out there and sell yourself and your business. A franchise system such as Fibrenew provides a wide array of support with marketing and sales, but that only goes so far. You still have to be comfortable with talking to new customers and selling your services. Finding the right organization that aligns with your personal and business goals is paramount.
