Lighting is an essential aspect of any retail installation, and can be used to help develop a store setting that appeals to potential customers. Different brands will be looking for completely different things from their lighting installations, but for every innovative and exciting look a brand can think of, there are lighting designers ready and waiting to help make this a reality.
In one of the most exclusive shopping areas of Miami, USA, the 100% Capri Store is a sophisticated shopping experience that required an equally sophisticated lighting design. The store specialises in articles of linen, and the store’s interior is a play of materials and shapes that is extended into
its choice of lighting.
The interior of the space, designed by the studio of Giachi Architettura e Design, focuses on a look of simple elegance, with a bright and spacious feel. The use of natural materials creates a delicate aesthetic, which is accentuated through the use of lighting. In order to create a lighting system that reflects this elegance, two large lamps from the Clavius collection by Axo Light were placed specifically to sit in the theatrical store setting. Their lightshades are made using slender silken threads that allow the light to softly show through their tobacco colour. The lights express the relationship between light, materials and shadow.
