RSD Summit

Meeting of the Minds

We talk to the organisers of this year’s Retail Shopfitting and Display Summit to find out some insider information on the event.

The Retail Shopfitting & Display Summit provides an excellent opportunity for retail professionals to meet in a number of private, face to face meetings. These meetings offer an excellent networking opportunity to discuss current trends and exchange ideas. This year’s summit is taking place on the 11th and 12th February at the Radisson Blu Hotel, London Stansted.

Who Attends the Summit? The summit is attended by a number of Shopfitting Managers and Head’s of Retail looking to meet with new product and service providers. Attendees are pre qualified, ensuring that only high calibre decision makers are present at the summit, providing a perfect target audience. All delegates attending must have projects planned, a budget in place and be there to meet with new suppliers.

How Are Appointments Organised? This is where the summit gets really interesting…about two weeks prior to the event, a catalogue of supplier profiles is sent to each delegate, who is then asked to select the companies that they would like to sit down with. At the same time, suppliers are provided with information on each delegate and offered the opportunity to prioritise the companies that they would

like to meet with. These requests are then assessed and matched to create an appointment schedule of facetoface meetings. Delegates are provided with a personalised, timed itinerary, and suppliers rest safe in the knowledge that every delegate they meet has indicated an interest in the product or service.

How is the day laid out? Suppliers are provided with a privately screened booth where their meetings will take place. Delegates take their personalised itinerary and head over to meet the suppliers that they have already expressed an interest in. On top of the meetings, delegates have the opportunity to attend seminars hosted by leading voices in the retail industry (for a full seminar schedule, head to page 16).

Gala Dinner An Evening Gala Dinner will be taking place in the evening of the Summit’s first day, on the 11th February. This provides a further opportunity for networking, offering further business opportunities. It is also hoped that the informal event will allow for the strengthening of existing relationships through a professional but informal atmosphere.
