It’s not every day that you see a retail installation that seems to defy gravity, but the recent design from officeTwelve for Speedo at London’s iconic Harrods store was certainly created with the intention of causing some double takes. officeTwelve were invited by the swimwear giant to design and install an event space for the brand inside Harrods’ famous department store. officeTwelve, who already count clients Nike,

the ceiling into a pool of water, which was to be further enhanced by the use of water‐effect lighting. Bubble walls were also used that encase running water and rising bubbles to add an additional sensory experience for the customer.

Converse and Next in their portfolio, were tasked with designing the ‘Swimming Pool’ installation, which was created to present female fashion swimwear, male and female training swimwear and Speedo’s brand new ‘Hero Collection’ range. The concept for this installation was to create a visual that shows a set of male mannequins diving from

installation for Harrods was in for four weeks, and will have attracted significant attention from the store’s
customers, many of whom are tourists that travel to London from around the world. This installation will raise Speedo’s brand profile and reaffirm their position as an innovative and exciting swimwear brand.

Feedback for the installation has been very positive, with Speedo’s Trade Marketing Manager commenting: “The team at Harrods were really impressed with the end result ‐ the Head of Retail for Sports for Harrods said it was the best execution in that area he had ever seen!” The finished installation is eye‐catching, and a creative retail interpretation of the Speedo brand.
