Two mooring tugs ordered I


N December last year, Østensjø Rederi placed an order at Risnes Marine Partner


(RMP), based in Sagvaag, near Bergen, for two mooring tugs for delivery in August this year. The 12m-long vessels are planned for operation at the Shell Nyhamna terminal. Designed by Vik-Sandvik, they are a


smaller version of Østensjø Rederi’s mooring tug Asterix, and somewhat bigger than Rex and Fox, all built by RMP. They have a length of 12.00m, a breadth of 4.80m, the depth to the deck is 2.20m, and the draught is approximately 2.00m. A Helseth CP propeller with a diameter


of 1.4m, powered by a Nogva/Scania 400hp DI12-1800rev/min diesel engine, are fitted, along with a Nogva 180C reduction gear. The vessels also have Ulstein Tennfjord steering gears and a high-effect rudder. The bow thruster is of type Sleipner SP550TC. The boats are also fitted with a Palfinger


PC2300 deck crane each, and can accommodate two persons.


Risnes Marine Partner is building two mooring launches for Østensjø Rederi.
