N March this year, Scandinavian Electric Systems AS and UAE-based Lamprell


Energy signed contracts to deliver the diesel-electric propulsion and automation systems for two harsh environment special purpose self propelled jack-up vessels on behalf of Bermuda-registered Seajacks International Ltd. The order comprises design, engineering,


product ion, test ing, del ivery, and commissioning of four diesel generator sets, main and emergency switchboards, frequency drives, two 1500kW electrical propulsion motors, and two elect rical 1500kW thruster motors. SES will also deliver the automation


system, DP-2 system, and the navigation and communication system for the vessels. Switchboards, cables, and installation material are supplied by the company’s subsidiary, SES Austevoll AS. The self-propelled four legged jack-up


vessels have been designed for Seajacks by GustoMSC, The Netherlands. The vessels will be used for well services and the repair, maintenance, modif ication, installat ion, and decommissioning of offshore facilities and well intervention in shallow water up to 50m, in the UK, Dutch, and Danish sectors of the southern area of the North Sea.
